Purchasing Officer
Key Result Areas:
- Purchase or contract supplies, services, and equipment required by any department within the limits of the current budget and in accordance with company purchasing procedures.
- Negotiate and recommend execution of contracts for the purchase of supplies, services, and equipment.
- Procure the necessary quality in supplies, services, and equipment at the least expense to the company.
- Assist the purchasing manager with daily tasks and create weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of goods import rules.
- Familiarity with the local market.
- Cost-saving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Team management skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to handle pressure.
Key Competencies:
- Negotiating and agreeing to contracts, monitoring their progress, and checking the quality of services provided.
- Processing payments and invoices.
- Keeping contract files and using them as a reference for the future.
- Producing reports and statistics using computer software.
- Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.
- Attending meetings and trade conferences.
