Organisational Context
Global hunger has reached alarming levels in 2022, and WFP, Nobel Peace Prize winner (2020), remains dedicated and committed to addressing this global food crisis. To enhance the efficiency and impact of our global initiatives, WFP is relocating key corporate functions within procurement and supply chain from its headquarters (Rome, Italy) to the UAE. The UAE, chosen for its strategic location, stability, advanced infrastructure, markets, expertise, and innovation, is hosting the newly established Global Supply Chain Support Center. Six national Emirati positions, integral to this initiative, are part of WFP’s innovative Emirati Talent Programme.
Humanitarian Leaders Programme
The Humanitarian Leaders Programme is a dedicated investment in nurturing young Emirati talent, aiming to develop future humanitarian responders and leaders. This programme offers high-potential Emirati professionals a unique opportunity to accelerate their career growth, aligning with the UAE government’s priorities. It also serves as a platform for Emirati talents to familiarize themselves with the UN system and become future humanitarian leaders. For WFP, this program is a chance to leverage the talent, knowledge, and cutting-edge practices developed in the UAE, particularly in areas crucial to WFP, such as sustainability, innovation, AI, and digitization.
Salary: Starting from AED 22,456.81 per month (inclusive of pension), plus medical insurance and other entitlements.
Duration of Employment: 12 months with possibility of extension
Work closely with communication team to maintain WFP Dubai Office’s visibility on social media accounts and in different events (university career events, employment fairs, etc)
Coordinate the new Humanitarian Leaders Programme from A to Z to onboard, train and retain the committed, agile and ambitious Emirati Humanitarian Leaders programme participants;
Act as the 1st focal point for the Hiring Managers/Supervisors, Mentors, new NOAs (i.e. Programme participants) and ensure their active and enthusiastic participation in every phase of the Humanitarian Leaders Programme;
Keep very regular direct communication with each Humanitarian Leader Programme participant to ensure they have access to HR and can discuss questions, challenges and opportunities;
Manage the different external providers supporting with assessment services, training services and others to ensure top-notch quality and great experience;
Support the planning and delivery of learning, development initiatives and TDY deployments;
Complete the due regular reports for management to indicate status update, opportunities, challenges, mitigation measures and learned lessons;
Manage the budget allocated for the Humanitarian Leader Programme.
- Completion of secondary school education. Additional training in Human Resources or related field is desirable.
- At least 6 years of experience in managing a talent management project or HR project is a key requirement.
- Proficiency in MS Office (excel, powerpoint, etc).
- Strong organizational and planning skills, and with excellent attention to details.
- Fluency in English is required. Arabic language is an asset. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
- Focused on finding solutions and providing high-quality services. Uses initiative and sound judgment to address and resolve issues.
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues of same and different units to achieve organizational goals.
